Willie Mae Gavin, affectionately known as Mae R. Gavin, 85, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on September 05, 2023.
Mae was born on June 17, 1938, in Gantt, Alabama to Lucian and Bessie Lee (Benbow) Rowell.
Mae worked for Adams Citrus Packaging Company of Auburndale for many years. She was an active member of Living Hope Church, formerly known as Church of God of Prophecy in Dothan, Alabama. Overcoming hardships and a humble childhood, Mae was a strong woman and a good mom. She never met a stranger and those who knew her described her as a radiant person who always seemed to be glowing. She loved her Lord, her Comforter, and found peace in her spirituality.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" E. Gavin, and her son, Jesse Ray Hall Jr.
She leaves behind her children, Judy Ann Grumney and her partner Mel, Cathy Juanita Hall and her partner Glenda, and Joseph Hall; her sister, Susie Casey; two grandsons, three great granddaughters, and one great great granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Midland City, Alabama on September 16, 2023 at 10:00 am.
