Mr. Vernon (Whitey) Venjohn, 80 of Lakeland Florida passed away October 29, 2019, at Good Shepherd Hospice House.
Vern was born July 24, 1939, to the late John and Lenore Venjohn of Miller, South Dakota.
Vern was married to Kay Calkins Venjohn for 57 years.
Vern is survived by his wife Kay, children, Robin Hoggard (David) and Wade Venjohn (Linda). Grandchildren, Joshua Hoggard (Stephanie), Jessica Carrigan (Dan), Jessica Parker (Jonathan) and Jerrica Parker. Great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Bryson Carrigan, siblings, Betty Bowar, Yvonne (Chuck) Bowar, Jerome Venjohn (Janet), Joyce Venjohn, Sharron Gustafson (Bob) and Richard Venjohn (Pam) and many nieces and nephews.
Vern was raised on the family farm in Polo SD. He retired from the Iron Workers Local 397 after 53 years of service. His favorite past time was riding his bicycle and spending time with his family.
Vern’s family and friends will remember him at a mass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 820 Marcum Road Lakeland Fl 33809 on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 am.
