Velma Waddell, age 80, of Lakeland, FL passed away on February 17, 2022.
A native of Cullman, Alabama, she was the daughter of late James and Beula Kimbril.
She is survived by her only daughter Sheila Twiss, her grandchildren, Heather Janeen Boxx, Ashley Deeann (Keon) Edmond, Kenneth Twiss, Kendell Twiss, great grandchildren Zoey Boxx, Hayden Dinero, Keith Twiss, Dominic Twiss, Austin Twiss and Caitlyn Twiss..
Velma was of Baptist faith and enjoyed attending Fellowship Church in Lakeland. She was a nurse and worked for the Upjohn Company. For many years she was an in-home caregiver to many and loved caring for others well into her 70's. She enjoyed crafting, especially making jewelry and pillows. She thoroughly enjoyed her weekly visits to her favorite McDonald's for filet o' fish and socializing. Red Lobster was her absolute favorite restaurant and looked forward to going often.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33805. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM
A graveside service will be held immediately following at Oak Hill Burial Park 4620 US 98 South, Lakeland FL 33812.
