Thomas John Sager, known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, passed away on February 20, 2024, in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on April 12, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Tom's journey through life was marked by a deep-seated love for his family, friends, and community.
Tom is survived by his wife of over three decades, Cari Sager, whom he married on December 30, 1991. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Sarah Sager and Thomas "TJ" Sager Jr. He is survived by his three brothers and one sister.
Professionally, in Ohio, Tom dedicated many years to his craft as a printer, a role in which he took great pride and through which he formed lasting friendships.
A huge University of Michigan fan, Tom's enthusiasm for his team was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion in the Sager household. His love for sports extended to the golf course and the corn hole boards, where he spent countless hours perfecting his game and enjoying the rivarly with his friends, especially on Saturday nights at The American Legion Post 34 in Haines City where he was a member of the SAL.
Since moving to Florida four years ago, Tom enjoyed being a part time maintenance man in his community, taking great pride in his upkeep for the fountains and pools. While living in Florida, Tom made many friends and enjoyed new hobbies like bingo and meeting his friends for an afternoon in the pool.
Above all, Tom was a family man at heart.
He enjoyed cooking on the grill for his friends and family. He often hosted cookouts in the backyard, where he would grill for hours. His devotion to his wife and children was the cornerstone of his life.
Tom's laughter and love will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him, but the warmth of his smile and the echo of his laughter will remain with us forever. GO BLUE!
