Sofia Guzman

Sofia Guzman, age 70, of Lakeland, FL passed away on December 27, 2022.
A native of Jayuya, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Pedro Guzman Rivera and Maria Santiago.
She is survived by her husband of ten years, Eloy Hernandez, her children, Iris Aviles, Anacelis Soto, Jahiara Hernandez, Yarilyn Cambal, Aneudy Negron, Henry Negron, Leonel Negron, her siblings, Jose DeLarosa, Alberto DeLarosa and Adaberto Guzman. She will be missed by her 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 
Sofia moved to New Jersey in 1988. She then moved to Florida in 2005. Sofia met Eloy in Lakeland, Florida through his sister. They were married on June 8, 2013. They had been married for nearly 10 years. She was a homemaker and took great care of her children. She was a nurturing woman who took care of her mother, Maria until she passed in 2020. She was a good mother, and a hard worker. She loved to fish and she thoroughly enjoyed cooking Spanish food. She was a remarkable seamstress and loved sewing clothes for her grandchildren. She was an outgoing, friendly woman who was adored by everyone who met her.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33805. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Burial Park. She will be laid to rest near her mother, Maria Santiago Viruet.
