Shawn Benoit Obituary

Shawn Patrick Benoit, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 43. Born on May 6, 1981, in Albany, New York, to the late Alfred James Benoit and Patricia Elaine Benoit, Shawn grew up with a loving family that included his grandparents, the late Alfred James and Alice Elizabeth Benoit, Wesley and Elsie Mordsfeld.

Shawn's life was a testament to his loving and friendly nature, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Amanda Benoit, and was a devoted father to his children, Ainsley Patricia Benoit, Gavin Oliver Benoit, and stepchildren Addison Erin Jensen and Avery Dylan Jensen. His siblings, Colleen Searson and Brian Benoit, will remember him as an inspiring and supportive brother. Shawn's joy was multiplied by the love he had for his nephews, Christopher Bass, Hunter Searson, Zachary Wolf, and nieces, Kristen Dale, Alyssa Stambone, Kelsey Wold-Wallace, as well as his five great-nieces and nephews.

Professionally, Shawn was a dedicated truck driver for Gordon Food Services, where he was not just an employee but a beloved member of the Gordon Food Services family. His colleagues will remember him for his unwavering work ethic and the warmth he brought to the workplace every day.

Shawn's passion for life was evident in his love for the Kansas City Chiefs, a team he supported with enthusiasm and pride. His interests extended to motorcycles and cars, finding joy in racing cars and the thrill of the open road. Music was another of Shawn's loves, a universal language that spoke to his soul and brought him immense pleasure.

A sports enthusiast, Shawn not only played soccer but also took great joy in coaching his daughter, Addison's, soccer team. He imparted not only skills but also life lessons and the value of teamwork to the young players. His influence as a coach will live on in the lives of those he mentored.

Shawn's legacy is one of love, friendship, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.

As we say goodbye to Shawn Patrick Benoit, we celebrate a life lived with passion, kindness, and a genuine concern for others. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives he touched.

His memory will forever be a guiding light to his loved ones, a reminder of the love and friendship he so freely gave.
