Sandra Roseann Nelson

Sandra R. Nelson, aged 84, passed away on February 7, 2022, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Sandra was born on January 13, 1938, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Harold and Beatrice Ohlson. She was the youngest of three children. On May 10, 1958, she married the love of her life, Charles A. Nelson. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Lakeland, Florida, where they established their family and raised two children. She was a member of Gibsonia Baptist Church. Sandra loved life. She was especially fond of books, boxer dogs, long walks, hymns, and popcorn. Sandra was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Holly R. Heflin; her son-in-law, Kevin O. Heflin; her son, Scott C. Nelson; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Marian and Marvis.
A graveside service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to honor Sandra's life to make a donation to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care. On line condolence may be left for the family at Lanier.care.
