Ronald Cawein Obituary

Ronald William Cawein, passed away peacefully at his home in Lakeland, FL, on January 9, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on September 1, 1941, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Wilbur and Adelaide (Lepple) Cawein, Ronald's life was marked by adventure, kindness, and a love for the open road.

Ronald's journey through life was shared with his devoted life partner of 30 years, Karen Tomlin. Together, they explored the country in their motor home, becoming winter residents away from their Ohio roots since 1995. Their shared passion for travel was complemented by countless miles on the motorcycle, with Ronald having been an avid rider since the young age of 14. His love for riding was not just a hobby but a defining aspect of his character unassuming, down-to-earth, and always ready to embrace the philosophy that "it is what it is."

Professionally, Ronald dedicated many years as a safety engineer for Procter & Gamble, where his work was not only a testament to his expertise but also to his commitment to the well-being of others. His professional life was paralleled by his active involvement in various associations, including the Goldwing Road Riders Association, a motorcycle organization with members worldwide, Â and the Masons, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the community.

Ronald's interests extended beyond the open road. He enjoyed boating, a pastime he eventually set aside for his greater passion for riding his Goldwing. His love for 50's and 60's music often provided the soundtrack for his travels and moments of leisure, echoing the tunes of his era.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his life partner, Karen Tomlin; his daughter, Catherine (Nick) Kreiner; and his granddaughter, Savannah Kreiner. Karen's son Dennis Tomlin (Terry). Ronald also held a special place in his heart for Karen's four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who will miss his loving attention.

As we bid farewell to Ronald William Cawein, we celebrate a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire us to embrace the journey of life with courage, kindness, and a touch of wanderlust. Ronald's legacy is not just in the miles he traveled but in the countless friends he made along the way.

Celebration of Life to be held later date.
