Rocchina Salerno

Rocchina "Rocky" Salerno, age 85, of Lakeland, passed away on December 28, 2022.
A native of Montevideo, Uruguay, she was the daughter and youngest of six children born to Gaetano and Mariangela Blandamuro.
She is survived by her children, Giuseppe (Rhonda) Salerno, Gaetano "Tommy" Salerno, and Leonardo (Madeline) Salerno, her grandchildren, Armando Salerno, Danielle Stone, Alexandra Kelly, Samantha Rosario, Michael Salerno, Christina Salerno, Alyssa Salerno, and Veronica Rosario, and great-grandchildren, Gaetano and Daniel Stone, Giuseppe and Giancarlo Salerno and Lena Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando, daughter, Isabella Rosario, and her siblings.
Rocky served lunch to elementary school children for many years. She was a hard-working woman who adored children and loved to cook. She loved to feed children, whether at school or her own children, and then grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a tough mom and a disciplinarian who loved her kids and taught them the important lessons in life, especially those of hard work and respect.
Services will be held privately by the family.
