Robert James Anderson, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 90. Born on October 28, 1935, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Robert's life was a testament of dedication to his family and country.

Robert's early years were spent with his loving parents, James and Teresa Anderson, who predeceased him, and his siblings Mildred, Margie, Pete, Betsy, and Kathy, with whom he shared countless memories. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Dot, Mary, and Jimmy, whose memories he held close to his heart.

After proudly serving three years in the Marines, Robert's spirit of service continued in his community, where he was known for his willingness to lend a hand. His work ethic and dedication were evident in all his endeavors, and his influence reached far beyond his immediate circle.

Robert's 40-year marriage to his beloved wife, Sally Anderson, was a beautiful partnership filled with love, support, and mutual respect. Together, they raised their son, Jimmy Edwards, and reveled in the joy of watching their family grow to include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to Robert's life.

A man of many interests, Robert found solace and pleasure in his hobbies. He was particularly skilled at building model ships, a craft that showcased his attention to detail and patience. Not only did he enjoy constructing these intricate vessels, but he also took great pleasure in painting them, bringing the models to life with his artistic touch. His love for creativity extended to diamond dots and the occasional paint by numbers, activities that allowed him to express his artistic side and share his creations with those he loved.

As we bid farewell to Robert James Anderson, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with purpose, joy, and the creation of beauty. His memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his family and friends.
