Reda West Obituary

Reda Mae West passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, at the age of 75, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on December 13, 1948, in Newport, Virginia, she was a woman whose life was marked by an unwavering faith, a passion for her work, and boundless love for her family.

Reda Mae's journey began as the cherished daughter of her parents in Newport, where she grew up alongside her siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her sister Freda Mills preceded her in death, but her loving spirit is carried on through her surviving siblings, Cathy Ballinger, Darlene Hunter, and Louis Ballinger.

A devoted wife, Reda Mae shared a beautiful life with her husband, Earl "Cliff" C. West of 37 wonderful years, whose companionship and love were her stronghold. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Jonathan Cagle, Michelle Cagle, and Toni West, who were the center of Reda Mae's world. She took immense pride in her role as a mother and later as a grandmother to Noah, Ellie, Kennedy, Genesis, Alenya, and Alenza, imparting to them the values of kindness, selflessness, and intelligence that she embodied.

Professionally, Reda Mae was a respected accountant who approached her work with the precision and dedication that were the hallmarks of her character. She was admired for being a perfectionist and a workaholic, yet she never let her professional commitments overshadow her personal relationships.

As a devout member of the Southern Baptist faith, Reda Mae was a woman of deep prayer and conviction. She lived her beliefs through her actions, treating everyone she met with an unwavering kindness that left a lasting impact. Her selfless nature was evident in the way she conducted herself, never hurting a person in her life and always putting others before herself.

Reda Mae's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She found joy in the serenity of fishing, and boating, and playing cards. Her love for numbers was more than just a profession; it was a pastime that brought her great pleasure.

Those who knew Reda Mae will remember her for the kindhearted, selfless, and intelligent person she was. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, through the wisdom she imparted, and the memories she created. Reda Mae West's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and dedication, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
