Raymond Edward Kushmider, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on December 5, 1942, in Plainville, Connecticut, to the late Gustav and Olga Kushmider.
After proudly serving his country in the Army, Raymond channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into a successful career as a self-employed craftsman, creating hand-made sunglasses that were not only functional but also works of art.
Raymond's creative passion extended to photography and spending time at flea markets, two pastimes that reflected his curiosity and appreciation for the world around him.
Those who knew Raymond will remember him as a loving and creative soul. His warm presence and genuine kindness touched the lives of many. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Edna Kushmider, who stood by his side as a partner and confidante. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and mutual support.
Raymond's memory will be cherished by his brother, Norman Kushmider and sister-in-law Carol, who shared in many of life's adventures. His nephew, Kenneth Kushmider, and niece, Laurie Kushmider Stock, will hold dear the lessons and love their uncle imparted upon them.
Raymond's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will continue to inspire. His legacy is one of creativity, love, and a life lived with purpose. As we say goodbye to Raymond Edward Kushmider, we celebrate the remarkable man he was and the countless ways he enriched our lives. His story does not end here, for he lives on in the memories we carry and the love that never fades.
