Raeburn Charles Foster, age 92, of Lakeland, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 18, 2023. He was born on May 19, 1930 in Mulberry, Florida to Charles and Mildred Foster.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Jean Foster; his son Wayne Foster; his two brothers, Franklin Foster and Tommy Foster, and his two sisters, Mildred Brown and Leila Allen.
Raeburn is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jackie) McNabb; four sisters, Mary Carlson, Martha Hood, Catherine Willis, and Sue (Joe) Hood; six grandchildren, Bryan (Charlene) McNabb, Shelley (Scott) Jones, Chris Foster, Tommy Foster, Angela (Robert) Eichholtz, and Michael Knight; nine great-grandchildren, Cody and Owen McNabb, Caleb, Brock, Bryson, and Jack Jones, Gracie Foster, Tyler Eichholtz, and Savannah Knight; and many nieces and nephews.
He lived a long and wonderful life. He proudly served 2 years in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a proud, highly decorated veteran who was proud of his country. He was a faithful member of Gapway Baptist Church. He had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a great storyteller who loved to share his stories and they will never be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, at Gapway Baptist Church,1705 N Combee Rd, Lakeland, FL 33801. Raeburn will receive full military honors and will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery with his wife, Betty Jean.
