Paulette Suchy Obituary

Mary Paulette Suchy (Donaldson), age 80, was born on January 2nd, 1945 in Pipestone, Minnesota and ran into the arms of Jesus in Lakeland, Florida on November 20th, 2025.

Paulette was a living example of the miraculous and an unashamed witness for Jesus. She lived her entire life to walk out faith and to declare the goodness of God. A trip to the grocery store that should only take about an hour usually turned into three because God would put someone in her path that needed to hear from Him. And she was never afraid to pray for someone or encourage them on the spot in those moments. If you went to any church with her, she would walk down the aisle and greet people, making them feel welcome and declaring that 'God is gonna bless your socks off!'

Paulette had several health issues that ultimately led to her passing, and while we were not prepared to let her go this soon, God had other plans and we trust Him.

Paulette was proud to be a 'navy brat', whose father served and eventually retired as a Naval Officer and cryptologist for the United States Navy. She so often shared stories about life on the military base, shenanigans by her sister swinging from a chandelier in the officer's club, and living in Guam during their military life.

Paulette loved to talk about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved them deeply. She loved to sing. She had professional vocal training and performed with an opera company in Washington D.C. where she sang for President Linden B. Johnson. She spent many summers in New York at Summer Stock and performed in many Off Broadway musicals. More recently, she served her church in Michigan faithfully for years as a choir director and vocalist and right up until her illness here in Florida could be heard out-singing all of those around her. She loved to lift her voice to the Lord in worship.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ihla Donaldson and her granddaughter Caraline Singh. Those that are waiting to join her someday are her husband, Michael Suchy, sisters Janet (Jim) O'kunze, Lynn Chillano, daughters Becki (Steve) Rose, Jaime (Paul) Lederman, and Abby (Bobby) Singh, grandsons Ryan (Rachel) Rose, Tim (Rachel) Rose, Morgan (Andrew) McBride, Ethan, Josee and Eli Lederman, Sophia and Austin Singh, great-grandchildren Rayden and Robbi Rose and Beck and Della McBride.
