Nancy Earle Obituary

Nancy Earle, age 83, of Lakeland, FL passed away on December 16, 2022 due to pneumonia at Lakeland Regional Health. She was born April 19, 1939 in Lash (Cownsburg), Pennsylvania. She was the eldest daughter of Mike and Stella Petros.

She grew up in Lash and Herminie. In 1957, she graduated from Sewickley Twp. High School.  She had relatives and friends there that she visited very often and always tried to attend her class reunions and the Over Fifties Reunions.

She joined the Air Force after graduation, where she spent two years until she got married and started a family.  She was honorably discharged.

She worked in San Bernardino, CA after her first daughter was born until her second daughter was born.  Her husband was then transferred to Hurlbert Field, FL and the family then moved to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Her son was born at Elgin Air Force Base.

Being a typical Air Force family, they then moved to Alexandria, LA, and Tampa, FL.  When her husband went overseas and her son started school she started working for H&R Block. For 13 years she worked for the company in Tampa, Goldsboro, NC, Rancho Cordova, CA, and back to Tampa when he retired. They moved to Lakeland, where he found work and she was back working for H&R Block. 

After her divorce, she stayed in Lakeland. She met Frank Palmer and they were together for 35 years until his death in 2015. During this time, she worked for the Federal Government (EEOC) in Tampa for 16 years until she retired in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest daughter Laura Joan Earle and her companion and best friend, Frank Palmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Earle (Mark Lemke) of Needles, CA and her son, Jim Earle of Lakeland, FL.  She leaves behind her grandchildren, Kelly (Al) Vandiver of Taccoa, Georgia, Karri (Mickey) Corpening of Toccoa, Georgia, Lawrence Michael Earle of Forest Park, Georgia, and great-grandchildren, Daysha and Allie Vandiver, Remington Corpening and Jaylan Earle.

She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), the Kathleen Historical Society, and Providence Home Makers.

Services will be held privately. Nancy will be laid to rest at Socrum Cemetery (Bethel Baptist Cemetery) 3125 W Socrum Loop Rd Lakeland,FL 33810.
