Muriel Ann Robbins, born on February 1, 1944, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Muriel was the beloved daughter of the late Francis Bussey and Mary (Wadlinger) Bussey. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Santiago, Francis Frederick Bussey, Catherine Bussey, and her stepdaughter, Deborah Andrade. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 1/2 years, Spencer Robbins, who shared a lifetime of memories, companionship, and love with her.
She is also survived by her loving children, Jeannette Murphy and her husband Darrin, and Tracy Siems and her husband Frederick. In addition, she is survived by her stepdaughter, Angela Palmer and her husband Jim. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in each of them.
Muriel was a proud and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brandon Murphy, Jared Murphy and his wife Emily, Dawson Siems, and Hunter Siems, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her sisters, Dolores Marchesano and Lois Stefko, who shared in many years of family memories and love. Muriel's presence in the lives of her family members was a constant source of comfort, strength, and encouragement, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
Muriel devoted many years of her life to working in the school systems until 1997, and she was especially proud of her work as a teacher's aide for special education students. She approached her work with patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help children succeed. Her kindness and dedication made a lasting difference in the lives of many students and colleagues. She found great meaning in serving others, and her years in education reflected the caring and generous spirit that defined her life.
After retiring, Muriel embraced her role as a grandmother with the same devotion she had shown throughout her life. She babysat her grandsons and loved them all dearly, and they loved her in return. Her time with them was among her greatest joys, and she treasured every moment spent in their company. She was a very dedicated grandmother, and her love for her grandchildren was evident in everything she did. Her home and her heart were always open to her family, and she created a warm and loving presence that will never be forgotten.
Muriel also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including going to the beach and taking cruises. These moments brought her happiness and relaxation, reflecting her appreciation for time spent enjoying the beauty of the world around her. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion to family, commitment to others, and quiet strength. Though her passing leaves a great emptiness, her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved her.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road Lakeland, FL 33805.
