Michael "Sam" Ellis Phillips

Michael “Sam” Ellis Phillips, 51, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023. He was born in Plant City, Florida to Brenda Dean and Arthur Ellis Phillips. Michael, affectionately known as Sam, was a fun-loving, generous man. He thoroughly enjoyed watching wrestling, adored his nieces and nephews, and provided for them throughout their lives. He loved his family, was fun to be around, and made people laugh with his great sense of physical humor.  He will be greatly missed.

Sam was preceded in death by his father at an early age, his mother, and his stepfather, Garry Wayne Wojciechowicz.

Sam leaves behind his childhood friend and companion for 11 years, Ashley Roberts, her parents, Mary (Ollie) Lambert, her father, Chip Bianchi, and her children, Steven Bianchi, Amanda Roberts, and Karinna Boivin.  He is also survived by his sisters, Lisa (Greg) Ayuso, Angie Wojciechowicz, and Elizabeth Wojciechowicz, and their children, his beloved nieces and nephews: Kayla Turley, Brittnie Gentry, Gianna Ayuso, Alexis and Gabriel Wojciechowicz, Vivian Morrison, Garry White, William White, Morgan and MacKenzie White, Jesus Quintana, great nieces, and nephews; Avery and Lakeleigh, Weston (on the way), Ashlyn and Eian, Leo, and Angelo. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2023, at New Home Baptist Church, 901 N. Galloway Rd, Lakeland, Florida with Pastor Jeff Kidd officiating.
