Melvin Leo Thompson, age 74, of Lakeland, FL passed away on December 8, 2020.
A native of Plant City, Florida, he was the son of Leo and Vera Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Thompson of 25 years; children, Timmy Thompson, Christy Thompson, Lori Sasser, Jamie Sasser (Nancy), Ricky Sasser (Julie), Michael Sasser (Kelly); siblings, Sam Klepper, Pat Poole; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Melvin was a welder fabricator for 27 years, attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springhead, enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles and spending time with his grandkids.
Family will receive friends, Sunday, December 13, 2020, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, with service to follow both at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road, Lakeland.
