Mary "Lois" Johnson, 84, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family, on October 14th, 2023. Born August 5th, 1939, she married Clifford on February 15th, 1957. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family.
Lois had a captivating personality that touched the lives of all who met her. Her love for her family was unconditional and knew no limits. She was a motherly figure to so many.
Lois drove a bus for Polk County School District for 26 years. She loved her students and gave them many stories and life lessons along their journey.
Lois enjoyed bowling, fishing, vacationing at Lake Marion, and traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains. She looked forward to visiting Anna Maria annually with her family, making invaluable and timeless memories. She was a great southern cook and took tremendous pride in making meals that brought her family together. Lois attended Fellowship Church in Lakeland. She was the most incredible Wife, Mama, Memaw, Fluffy, and Aunt Lois to ever grace this world.
Lois is preceded in death by parents, Ruby and Gillis Boatwright; son, Timothy "Wayne" Johnson; and brothers, Monroe, LC, and Lamar Boatwright.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Clifford Johnson, and beloved children, Sheila (Kevin) Sarvis, and Ashley Rice, grandchildren, Shanna Sarvis, and Cory (Jackie) Sarvis, and great-grandchildren, Madison and Maverick Rice, and Waylon and Jolene Sarvis.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road Lakeland, FL 33805.
A funeral service will be held at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services in Lakeland, FL, on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. with pastor Dan Applewhite officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
