Mary Jo Jarrett, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on March 18, 1944, in Great Bend Kansas, to the late Bob and Lottie Jones, Mary Jo's life was a testament to her dedication to learning, civic engagement, and the nurturing of her beloved family.

Mary Jo's legacy is carried on by her loving son, James Micah Jarrett, who will forever cherish the memories and values she instilled in him.

Mary devoted 40 years to enlightening young minds. Her commitment to education was further evidenced by her attainment of a master's degree. Her intellect and love for civic duty found a home in the League of Women Voters. Additionally, as a member of Mensa, Mary Jo enjoyed the camaraderie and intellectual stimulation provided by fellow members, all while contributing her unique insights and wisdom.

As a teacher, Mary Jo touched the lives of countless students, instilling in them a sense of curiosity and a love for knowledge that many carried into their adult lives. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her dedication to her family, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
