Martha Lain Green

Martha Nell (Lain) Green, 87 a lifetime resident of Lakeland passed peacefully with family and friends by her side on June 30th, 2021.

Martha Nell was born on April 14, 1934 to Curtis and Rosa Belle Lain. She was a charter member of Crestview Baptist Church and retired after 30 years as a bus driver for the Polk County Schools. Known by her grandchildren and many others as Nana, she lived a life full of love. She loved camping, sewing, working in her flower beds, the beach, birdwatching and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 47 years Harvey (Buddy) Green and son, William (Billy) Mills.

Martha Nell is survived by her sons, Keith Green, Donnie (Amy) Mills , Daniel Green and daughter Suzanne (Joe) Loaring. Siblings, Donald (Ann) Lain, Linda Kay (Hosie) O'Steen and Ray Lain. Grandchildren, Debbie (Adam) Roper, Candyce (Adam) Yurchevich, Curtis Green, Danny Green, Ricky Green, David (Tessa) Loaring, Kent (Colae) Green, Heather Green, Tricia Green, Ashlea (Josh) Evans, Drew Green and 19 Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lifecare of Winter Haven, Compassionate Care Hospice and all of those who cared for her by blessing her with love and support over the last year(s).

Visitation will be held at Crestview Baptist Church, 615 Old Polk City Road on Sunday July 11th from 1:00-2:00 PM with a celebration of life starting at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Crestview Benevolent Fund which serves those in need in our community.
