Mark Pope, age 42, of Lakeland, FL passed away on August 10, 2022.
A native of Naples, Florida, he was the son of John and Linda Pope.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shelly Pope, parents, John and Linda Pope, children, Brittany Sharpe, Deonta Sharpe, Destiny Sutton, Madison Sharpe and Andrew Pope. He will be missed by his brothers, Stephen (Amy) Pope and Brian (Tarita) Pope and four nieces. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kylen Williamson, Jordan Barlow, Isaiah Barlow, Anna Sutton, Jayce Sutton, Jayden Grooms and Kaiden Sharpe.
Mark attended United Methodist Church and worked as a chief operator for Mosaic phosphate company. He was a fresh water fisherman, golfer, bowler and played every sport imaginable, especially baseball. Much to his family's chagrin, he was an avid Marlins fan. He thoroughly enjoyed karaoke and singing his favorite rock tunes. He was fond of his JEEP family and proud to be part of it. He loved his family and was a great provider, hard worker and loving husband. His grandkids know him as Papa and will miss their loving grandfather. He will be sorely missed by everyone.
The family will receive friends Monday August 15, 2022, from to 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lanier Funeral & Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Rd, Lakeland Florida 33805. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
