Luz Maria Tirado-Cruz

Mrs. Luz Maria Tirado-Cruz, 90, of Lakeland, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 03, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Luz was born on April 01, 1932, in Patillas, Puerto Rico, to parents Martin Cruz and Julia De Jesus.
Luz was a homemaker who loved her children and raised them with a firm hand. She was a member of Oasis de Esperanza in Lakeland. She was a woman of strong faith who loved her church and was willing to give anything needed of her. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and loved to transplant flowers. She was known to "collect" various items. She was adored by her neighbors. She took care of the stray cats and made sure that they were fed. Luz had a strong personality and spoke her mind, unfiltered. She was very giving and loved by everyone. She will be missed.
Luz was preceded in death by her husband, Eulogio Tirado-Rosario in 2011, her parents, and her brothers, Ramon Luis Cruz and Roberto Cruz. She is survived by her children; Samuel Rivera, Lino Rivera Jr., Efrain Cruz (Olga Montalvo), Wanda E. Cruz (Jose Torres), Nelson J. and Brenda Tirado, and Mary I. and Joaquin Plaza, siblings; Hector Cruz, Jose Cruz, Ana Isabel Cruz, and Dorcas Cruz, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road Lakeland, FL 33805. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Juan Carlos Molina officiating. A procession will lead Luz to Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, Florida for a graveside service immediately following the service.
