Kathleen Grace Mahoney, affectionately known as Triple G to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on February 8, 1931, in Cromwell, Pennsylvania, Kathleen's vivacious spirit and loving nature touched many throughout her 93 years.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Jenkins and was one of eight siblings. Kathleen is survived by her sister, Mary Cohenour, and predeceased by Phyllis Hepfer, Sherman, Gerald, Donald, Dean, Carl, and Joseph Jenkins. Kathleen's memory will be cherished by her children, Joseph B. O'Neill, and Connie D. Porter (Harry). She was preceded in passing by her son, Wendell L. Forsythe. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren, Gregory A. Porter, Allison Ledford, and Ariana Dey Butler, her five great-grandchildren, Abigail and Austin Porter, Meghan and Cooper Ledford, and Jayden Butler, and eight great-great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Kathleen's life was marked by her independent and spunky nature, which endeared her to many. She was a firecracker of a woman, whose loving and giving heart was as big as her personality. Kathleen always considered Pennsylvania her home, no matter where life took her. She was very well-loved by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Kathleen worked as a waitress, and traveling trainer for Denny's - a role that allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life. Her warm smile and genuine interest in others made her a favorite among patrons and colleagues alike. Kathleen's work ethic and personable nature were a testament to her character.
Kathleen's interests were a reflection of her independent spirit. She enjoyed word searches and embroidery, activities that showcased her attention to detail and patience. These pastimes were more than hobbies; they were expressions of the love and care she put into everything she did.
Triple G's story is one of resilience, love, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. She was a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on those around her. Kathleen's presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched.
