Joan Gentry Pendry

Joan Gentry Pendry, passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 92 in Lakeland, Florida. Born on August 16, 1933, in Cherry Lane, North Carolina, Joan's life was a testament to the power of kindness and devotion.

The daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and Cordelia Gentry, Joan grew up in a home filled with warmth and compassion, qualities that she would carry with her throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Pendry, with whom she shared cherished memories until his passing.

Joan's legacy continues through her children, David Pendry and Jerry Leonard Pendry, who will remember her as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support. Her three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren were the joys of her life, and she took immense pride in their every achievement and milestone.

A long-standing member of Griffin Baptist Church, Joan dedicated many years to nurturing the youngest members of the congregation in her role in charge of the nursery.
