Janice Glasgow Ayscue, 96, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on July 4, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1929, in Franklin County, North Carolina, and lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family and church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Glasgow and Luvenia Collier; her brother, Buddy Glasgow; her husband, Jack Ayscue; and her daughter, Jane Ayscue. Though her passing leaves a deep void, her memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to those who loved her.
Janice is survived by her children, Charlotte Bell of Lakeland, Dan Ayscue and his wife Nancy of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Jerry Ayscue and his wife Annette of Bartow, Dean Ayscue and his wife Penny of Lakeland, Marsha Mooneyham and her husband Gene of Lakeland, and Gail Martin and her husband Robin of Lakeland. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom were blessed by her love and will carry her memory forward.
Janice was a loving, kind, and faith-filled woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to her home and family as a homemaker, and she carried out that role with grace, patience, and steadfast care. Her life reflected the values she held dear, and she was admired for the warmth, strength, and compassion she shared so freely with others.
She was a faithful member of Gapway Baptist Church and found great joy in serving her church family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she lived it through her actions, her words, and the example she set for those around her. Janice was known for her kind heart and her willingness to help others, and her presence was a blessing to her church and community.
Janice also loved to travel and enjoyed spending time in her yard. Caring for her yard and tending to her flowers were among her favorite pastimes, and she took great pride in the beauty she created around her home. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and peace. Above all, she treasured time with her family, and she especially loved her children and grandchildren deeply.
Her family will remember her for the many ways she showed her love, for the faith that guided her life, and for the kindness she extended to others. Janice Glasgow Ayscue leaves behind a legacy of devotion, humility, and enduring love. Her life was a beautiful example of faithfulness and care, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gapway Baptist Church, 1702 Terry Rd Lakeland, FL 33801.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM.
