Jane O. Ramsey, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 86. Born on January 22, 1940, in Desoto County, Mississippi, Jane's life was a testament to her loving, kind, and faith-filled spirit.
Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Clyde Manchester Spencer and Bessie Elizabeth Dillard. She was a devoted wife to Davis Ramsey, her beloved husband of nearly 66 years, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering partnership. Together, they raised a family of four children: Elizabeth Trussell, Davis Edwin Ramsey Jr., Ronnie Ramsey, and Shirley Willis, who brought joy and pride to Jane's life. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom she adored.
Jane's siblings, Clyde Spencer and Allen Spencer, will remember her fondly, as will the memories of her late siblings, Charles Barrentine, Jim Barrentine, Ann Underwood, Julia Jones, Juanita Bell, and Linda Presley, who predeceased her.
A dedicated educator, Jane inspired countless students over her career, imparting wisdom and nurturing growth with a gentle hand. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, as evidenced by her 35 years as a minister's wife. Jane's involvement with the Scott Lake Baptist Church community was profound; she served as the church librarian, managed Sunday school for as long as she could, and was a guiding light to all who knew her.
Jane's interests extended beyond her professional and church life. She found solace and joy in the pages of books and the beauty of her garden. Her love for reading was only matched by her passion for tending to her plants, both of which provided her with endless hours of contentment.
Jane was a devout Christian and prayer warrior. Her journey on earth may have come to a close, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for those she loved. Her life was a beautiful reflection of the values she held dear, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
