Jacquelyn Smith Obituary

Jacquelyn Diane Smith, a woman of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on June 14, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, Jacquelyn's life was a testament to her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.

She was the cherished sister of Luther Morris, Rose Moorehouse, and Truman Morris, all of whom predeceased her, leaving behind a legacy of familial devotion that Jacquelyn carried throughout her life.

Her journey led her to Lakeland, where she became a pillar of strength and support for her children, Richard Smith (married to Jen), Diane Guerra, Ronda Paxton, and Vicki Watson (married to Daniel). She was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren: Tiffani Geiger (Tim), Tanner Barefoot, Christina Stephens, Brianna Stephens, Kaytie Guerra, Paul Smith (Sydney), Cari Smith, Brooklyn Nesmith (Trey), Amanda Paxton, and Blythe Paxton. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of several great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a sparkle to her eye and warmth to her heart.

Jacquelyn's love extended beyond her family to her beloved dog, Schotzi, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. Her passion for life was evident in her diverse interests, which included active participation in the VFW Women's Auxiliary and serving as a victims' advocate for the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Her intelligence shone brightly in her love for real estate, where she found great satisfaction in helping others find their dream homes.

Traveling was another of Jacquelyn's passions, allowing her to explore the world and create unforgettable memories. She embraced every opportunity to experience new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes, always returning home with stories to share and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of life.

Jacquelyn's selfless nature was most evident in her unwavering support for those in need. Whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or wise counsel, she was always there for her family, friends, and community. Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and a life well-lived.

As we bid farewell to Jacquelyn Diane Smith, we celebrate a life that was truly remarkable. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire us. Jacquelyn's memory will be cherished and honored by all whose lives she touched with her loving presence.
