Jacob Frank Fahrner, III

Jacob Frank Fahrner III, age 76, passed away on July 26, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, holding his only sons hand, leaving behind a legacy of humor, warmth, resilience, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He was born on October 17, 1949, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and spent his early years rooted in the community that helped shape the spirited and optimistic man he would become. Jacob attended Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor and graduated in 1967. He went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, a reflection of his intelligence, discipline, and determination.

Jacob served his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1978 and was honorably discharged. His life of service continued in many forms throughout the years, whether in the classroom as a school teacher, in the world of real estate as an agent, or through his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of his own fine lighting store in Henderson, Nevada. There, he made and repaired stained glass lamps with care and craftsmanship, bringing light and beauty into the homes of others through his work.

He was a man of many talents and interests, and he lived life with a joyful energy that was impossible to overlook. Jacob loved riding Harley Davidsons with his son, and those rides became treasured memories filled with freedom, companionship, and adventure. He loved animals deeply and had a natural affection for all creatures. He also had a great laugh, a wonderful sense of humor, and a gift for telling a good joke. In Las Vegas, he shared his comedic spirit through amateur stand-up comedy, where he delighted audiences with his wit and charm. He had an extraordinary ability to lift the spirits of others, often cheering people up even when he himself was not feeling his best. He never complained, and he met life with a smile, a funny remark, and a great deal of heart.

Music was also an important part of Jacob's life. He collected guitars and other instruments, and he especially loved the Beatles and the British Invasion music of the 1960s. His appreciation for music reflected his lively personality and his enduring connection to the sounds that brought him joy. Those who knew him will remember his great smile, his spirited nature, and the way he could make any room feel lighter simply by being in it.

Jacob is survived by his son, Jacob Frank Fahrner IV, and his daughter in law, Kristin. He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Miller and Fred Fahrner, as well as step siblings, Judith, George III, Richard, Edward, and Robert Steeh. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Katherine-Jane Bunker and her husband, Austin, and Jacob Frank Fahrner V, his step grand children Ian & Holly Morrow, along with his three great-grandchildren, McKenna, Jace, and Wren. He also held a special place in his heart for his lifelong friend, Thomas Saxton. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Fahrner Jr., as well as his mother, Jane (Kelsey) Fahrner, and his stepfather, George Steeh.

Jacob's life was marked by kindness, laughter, and an unwavering ability to bring comfort and joy to others. He was funny, optimistic, and spirited, and those qualities remained with him throughout his life. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for the way he made others feel valued, encouraged, and loved. His presence was a gift, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends.
