Iris Aleene Dorman

Iris Aleene Dorman, age 72, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on June 26, 2026, in the same city where she was born on August 26, 1953. She lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength, and she will be remembered by all who knew her as a deeply loving woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to her family and friends.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Hubart and Maxine Parker, and by her brother, Wilford Hale. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Dorman, who shared with her a long and devoted marriage built on love, companionship, and mutual respect.

She is also survived by her children, Lawrence "Howell" Dorman, Christopher Dorman (Tiffany), and Kendal Fryhling (Brandon). Iris took great pride in her family and found joy in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her memory will continue to live on through her grandchildren, Clayton Dorman, Briella Dorman, Kinsley Dorman, and Connor Fryhling, as well as her great-granddaughter, Hazel Dorman. Iris is also survived by her siblings, Leonard Hale, Allen Parker, Stanley Stearns, and Brenda Good.

Those who knew Iris will remember her for the simple and beautiful things that made her life so full. She loved gardening and found peace and satisfaction in caring for plants and watching them grow. She had a special affection for animals, especially birds, goats, cats, and horses; she enjoyed their companionship throughout her life. Iris was also known as a great cook, and many will fondly remember the meals she prepared with care and love. Her kitchen was often a place of comfort, where family and friends gathered and where her generous spirit was reflected in every dish she made. She was also a very talented and dedicated hairdresser and barber.

A life so lovingly lived leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years alone. Iris Aleene Dorman will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, siblings, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration, and her loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
