Ida Cooper

Ida Lorene Cooper, age 76, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on June 7, 2026. She was born on November 23, 1949, in Moultrie, Georgia, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Ida was the daughter of the late Andrew Wesley Watson and Fanny Lorene Watson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Maxie Cooper, whose companionship and partnership were a treasured part of her life. She was further preceded in death by her siblings Bobby Watson, Betty Jo Batten, Buddy Watson, and Gordon Watson. In addition, she mourned the loss of her infant grandchild, Jesse Hutchinson.

Ida leaves behind her children, George Wesley Watson, Rodney Watson, and Crystal Cooper, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ciarra Cooper, Taylor Hutchinson, Marcus Watson, Maddie Watson, Jordan Watson, and Montana Watson, each of whom brought her great pride and happiness. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Quora, Muriel, Connor, Case, Brinnley, Kaiden, and Tate, who were a source of joy and love in her later years.

Those who knew Ida will remember her as a loving and kind woman who cared deeply for the people around her. She had a gentle spirit and a warm presence that brought comfort to her family and friends. Ida found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and she especially enjoyed playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles, watching crime shows such as CSI Miami and Chicago Fire, and spending time playing mahjong. These pastimes reflected her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for moments of quiet enjoyment and connection.

Ida Lorene Cooper will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting part of the lives she enriched.
