Gerald Crafton Obituary

Gerald Crafton was born on March 4, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee, and passed away on July 4, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida.

Gerald lived a life marked by devotion, strength, and quiet generosity. He was a loving, courageous, and kind man whose presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around him. He served his country in the Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment. He was also a proud member of Masonic Lodge 91, where he valued fellowship, tradition, and the bonds of brotherhood.

Family was at the center of Gerald's life, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Charlotte Crafton, whose partnership and love stood as a testament to a lifetime shared together. He also leaves behind his children, Lucinda and her husband Mark, Stephanie and her husband Joe, and Christopher. Gerald was a proud grandfather to Brett and his wife Jessica, Austin, Shawn, Matthew and his wife Katherine, Michaela and her wife Halaney, Delaney, and Savannah and her husband Dylan. His legacy continues through his beloved great-grandchildren, Paislee, Easton, Skylar, Lana, Charlotte, Tate, Kohen, and Remi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Estelle Crafton, and by his brother, Hugh Crafton. He also mourned the loss of his grandchild Colby, as well as his great-grandchildren Luke and Deacon, who went before him.

Gerald found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He enjoyed hunting in Georgia and fishing, and he especially loved being surrounded by his grandchildren. Above all, his favorite times were holidays and family gatherings, when laughter, shared meals, and the presence of loved ones filled his heart. Those moments reflected the true measure of his life, for he was happiest when his family was together.

He will be remembered for the love he gave freely, the courage he showed in every season of life, and the kindness that defined his character. Gerald Lavaughn Crafton leaves behind a family and a community enriched by his example, his devotion, and his enduring spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
