Frances Hart Macarro, 87, passed away in Bartow, Florida, on January 20, 2023, due to a heart
condition. Even though her physical heart gave out, her legacy of the importance of faith,
family, and friends will be remembered by those she left behind.
Born in 1935 to a family of early settlers of Lakeland, Florida, Frances was proud of her
heritage of being a sixth-generation Floridian. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harris
Hart and Seeny Fields Hart along with a son, David Burnham. Frances graduated from Lakeland
High School in 1953 and attended Florida Southern College and Lakeland Business School. Most
notable though, Frances is remembered for working in, owning, and managing Risk Roses, a
family wholesale and retail rose business previously located on South Florida Avenue in
Lakeland.
After retiring, Frances was a member of TBA Church in Lakeland; attended Christian Women’s
Club along with a Women’s Bible Study for many years at First Baptist Church at the Mall; and
enjoyed reading and traveling. Maintaining an active social life, Frances loved having lunch with
friends and cousins and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Brenda Howell, grandchildren Josh (Carla) Howell, Amy
(James) Hopkins, Jessica (Cory) Perkins, Daniel (Tiffany) Burnham, Jennifer (Thomas) Lee, and
Rebecca (Shelby) Mowrer, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of
Bartow, located at 205 E. Stanford Street, Bartow, Florida. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be at Oak Hill Burial
Park, 4620 US Hwy 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812 .
