Ernest Kish Jr., a cherished husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Lake Wales, Florida, at the age of 65. Born on April 18, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Ernest's life was a testament to the joy and love he brought into the world.
Ernest was the beloved husband of Cheryl Kish, with whom he shared 37 years of devoted marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and an abundance of cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Kish Sr. and Joan Kish, who instilled in him the values of kindness and compassion that he carried throughout his life.
He is survived by his twin brother, Joseph Kish, who was not only his sibling but also his lifelong friend and confidant. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and their countless adventures will be fondly remembered by all who knew them.
Ernest was a man of faith and went to St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was known for his deep understanding of the Bible, which he studied diligently. His ability to recall scripture was nothing short of remarkable, and he often shared his knowledge with others.
A man of many interests, Ernest was an avid gamer, excelling at card games, board games, and dominoes. Ernest's outgoing personality and warm, friendly spirit meant he truly never met a stranger. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel like an old friend from the very first conversation. His presence brought joy and light to those around him, and he was known simply as a genuinely good man. Those who had the privilege of knowing him often said that if you didn't know Ernest, you truly missed out.
As we say goodbye to Ernest Kish Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that touched the hearts of so many. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will live on as a beacon of the kindness and friendship he so freely gave.
