Edith Grace Krick, a spirited, friendly, and loving woman, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, in Lakeland, Florida surrounded by family. Born on March 15, 1926, in Derby, Connecticut, Edith was an example of positivity and kindness, touching the lives of many with her warm heart and generous spirit.
Edith was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Charles Anthony Krick Sr., her son, Charles A. Krick Jr., her brother, Elmer E. Sharpe Jr., and her granddaughter, Jessica Williams. She is survived by her children, Joanne (John) McCoy, Catherine Fravel, Carolyn (Franklin) Hobbs, and Marie Harrell. Edith was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with another on the way. Each of her descendants was a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Raised on a dairy farm, Edith was no stranger to hard work. This upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors that she carried throughout her life. Her love for yard work was evident in her beautifully kept garden. Edith was also an active and social individual who enjoyed the company of others. She was known for her kind-hearted nature and her ability to bring joy to any gathering.
Edith had a passion for puzzles, animals, lighthouses, and ice cream. She was an avid bingo player and also had a knack for crossword puzzles, a hobby that kept her mind sharp and her spirit lively.
In addition to her personal interests, Edith was a dedicated volunteer in her community. She was always ready to lend a helping hand at her apartment complex, a testament to her generous spirit and commitment to service. Edith was also an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church, where she was involved in the card ministry. Her faith was a significant part of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.
Edith was a strong, spunky woman who lived her life with grace and resilience. Her friends and family will remember her for her unwavering positivity, her infectious laughter, and her deep love for those around her. Edith's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.
As we remember Edith, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her. Edith Grace Krick, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, it was Edith's wish to have contributions made to Good Shepherd Hospice in specific care of the Brave Heart Camp.
Friends and family will be received Saturday December 9, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Edith will be laid to rest following a graveside service at Socrum (Bethel) Cemetery.
