She is survived by her children, Joanne (John) McCoy, Catherine Fravel, Carolyn (Franklin) Hobbs, and Marie Harrell. Edith was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with another on the way. Each of her descendants was a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Raised on a dairy farm, Edith was no stranger to hard work. This upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors that she carried throughout her life. Her love for yard work was evident in her beautifully kept garden. Edith was also an active and social individual who enjoyed the company of others. She was known for her kind-hearted nature and her ability to bring joy to any gathering.
Edith had a passion for puzzles, animals, lighthouses, and ice cream. She was an avid bingo player and also had a knack for crossword puzzles, a hobby that kept her mind sharp and her spirit lively.
In addition to her personal interests, Edith was a dedicated volunteer in her community. She was always ready to lend a helping hand at her apartment complex, a testament to her generous spirit and commitment to service. Edith was also an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church, where she was involved in the card ministry. Her faith was a significant part of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.
