Doris Juanita Poston

Born at home in 1929, Doris J Poston spent her youth on a farm in rural North Lakeland. Attending KHS as a "Strawberry School," she graduated in 1946 - elected as both the Wittiest and Body Beautiful girl in the Senior Class. After a career in DC, Miami, and Orlando, Doris retired and "returned to her roots." Loving vivid colors and "Old Florida," she taught herself to paint. The following decades were joyfully spent creating beautiful oil paintings in her home. She died at Bridgewalk Nursing Home, October 9, 2024, in Lakeland.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, and is survived by many nephews and nieces. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1980. Services will be at Lanier Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, at 10 am.
