Doris May Eighmey, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on June 14, 1943, in Canandaigua, New York, to the late Raymond and Margaret Marshall, Doris grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings, Edward R. Marshall and Barbara Marshall.
Doris's life was a testament to the power of love and family. On March 17, 1962, she married the love of her life, James R. Eighmey Sr., and together they embarked on a journey of 62 years filled with joy, challenges, and countless memories. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Dawn Eighmey and James Eighmey Jr. (Melissa), who in turn gave her the gift of three adored grandchildren, Raymond, Brianna, and Brandon Eighmey.
A woman of many passions, Doris found solace and excitement in the pages of romance novels, which she read avidly. Her laughter was a frequent and welcome sound as she enjoyed her favorite TV shows, and her peanut butter fudge was legendary among family and friends - a secret recipe that delighted everyone who had the pleasure of tasting it.
Doris's love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, sharing stories, and creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Her nurturing spirit extended to her nieces and nephews, who will remember her as a guiding light in their lives.
As we bid farewell to Doris, we celebrate a life lived with grace, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. Doris's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life - a legacy that will be cherished and carried forward by all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Doris May Eighmey's life was a beautiful journey that enriched the lives of many. As we remember her, we hold onto the love she shared and the happiness she brought into our world. Her memory will forever be a beacon of light for her beloved family and friends.
