With deepest sorrow, we announce that David Paul Hasselman Jr. age 53, passed away unexpectedly November 17, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. He was born September 20,1968 to David and Patricia Hasselman
who loved and supported him unconditionally.
David will be missed every day by his devoted wife of 20 years, Wendy Miklavcic
Hasselman; children Rachel Murray, Kaitlyn Hasselman, Terri Zimmerman; grandchildren, Hallie and Caleb Zimmerman; his sister, Stacey Wasilnak (Brian); his little buddy, Jaxon Wasilnak; his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
A talented and avid writer by trade, David spent much of his younger life entertaining a wide variety of audiences with his comical cartoons and impromptu short stories. This passion eventually led to a career with the Zephyrhills News as
a sports editor, ultimately leading to the position of editor of the paper.
Anyone who knew David knew he was passionate about many things. One of
those was sports. Being a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, there was hardly a
time he would be seen not donning his Sox apparel. David enjoyed golfing, fishing
in the Keys, having sleepovers with his nephew, spending time with family including his two furry friends Yukie and Lobo, eating lobster and spending time in New England.
The family will be having private services.
If desired, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in David's memory.
