Born on October 9, 1952, to Wallace and Lois Mills, Darryl's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and faith.

Darryl's journey through life was shared with his beloved spouse, Linda Mills, whom he married later in life on September 16, 2023. Their time together, though brief, was filled with joy and companionship. He was a devoted father to his children, Michael Mills and his wife Pam, William Mills, and Daniel King. His role as a patriarch extended to his six grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, David, Ava, Aiden, and Aubrie, and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

He was the brother to Donald (Tammy), Gary (Gina), Jimmy (Lynn), Janice, Lisa, and the late Roger and Karen Mills. Darryl's siblings will remember him as the glue that held the family's bond firm, always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand.

Darryl's life was marked by his adventurous spirit and his passion for the outdoors. An avid fisherman and boater, he found solace and joy upon the waters. His love for bluegrass music was evident in his dedication to learning the banjo, an endeavor that brought him great pleasure in his later years. A man of newfound faith, Darryl attended Mount Olive Baptist Church in Polk City, where he found a community of like-minded believers.

Yet, it was his love for his family and friends that truly defined him. Darryl was known for his loving nature, his adventurous outlook on life, and his ability to make any moment interesting.
