Curtis Alan Watson, passed away on July 15, 2025, in his hometown of Lakeland, Florida. Born on October 2, 1967, to Jimmie L. Watson Sr. and Laura J. Watson, Curtis's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of family and community.
Alan grew up in Lakeland, where he was surrounded by the love and support of his family. He was a devoted son, a loving brother, father and grandfather. His father, Jimmie L. Watson Sr., and brothers, Lonnie Ray Watson and Randall Watson predeceased him, leaving a legacy of strength and resilience that Alan carried throughout his life. Alan is survived by his mother, Laura J. Watson, brother, Jimmie Watson Jr., children Joshua Watson and Stephanie McCool, three grandchildren, and his long-term companion Traci Burduan.
Professionally, Alan was respected as a skilled heavy equipment operator, a role in which he took great pride. Alan's passion for fishing was well-known among his friends and family. Many will recall the joy in his eyes as he spoke of his latest catch or the serenity he found by the water's edge.
As we bid farewell to Curtis Allan Watson, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart generously given, and a spirit that will continue to guide us. His memory will be treasured, his stories retold, and his love felt always. May he rest in peace, knowing that he has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
