Connie Sawyer (Sawyer) Timmons

Connie Sawyer Timmons, 61, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on August 08, 2023.

Connie was born on October 3, 1961, in Lakeland, Florida to parents Norman Sawyer and Helen Hadley Sawyer.

Connie worked in the lab at Watson Clinic's main campus in Lakeland, FL for many years. Connie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she had been the choir director since she was a teenager. She was very involved in the church most of her life, where she helped lead the music program and youth programs. She loved music and was an excellent singer. She sang solos at numerous church services, weddings, and funerals over the years. She enjoyed crafts, especially scrapbooking and card making. She would sometimes teach and lead craft groups at church or for her sons' school groups. Her absolute favorite pastime was watching Korean dramas, but her greatest love was music. She supported the arts and could always be found among the audience at the Lakeland Community Theatre as well as Winter Haven Community Theatre. She loved to socialize with her ladies' groups and was known for her brightly colored hair and uplifting smile. Everyone knew her as a social butterfly, and she never hesitated to try and make new friends. She was always the heartbeat of the party.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Norman Sawyer.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband, Garrett C Timmons III; her sons, Sawyer Timmons and Cordell (Kerri) Timmons; her mother, Helen Sawyer; her sister Sonya Sawyer; niece Trixy Christina Tuggle; nephews Joshua, Jason, Christopher, and Joseph Huefner; as well as numerous cousins.

Friends and family will be received at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 14, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 2715 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33805.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Following the service, a luncheon for family and friends will be served in the church fellowship hall (adjacent to the sanctuary).
