Charlotte Anne Smith, a beacon of creativity and love, passed away on March 15, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 74. Born on March 4, 1951, to the late Charles Polston and Edna Mae Taylor.
Charlotte's journey through life was one marked by a deep commitment to her family. She was a beloved wife to James Smith, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. As a mother, her love knew no bounds, and she is survived by her adoring children, Deseria Anderson, Cassandra Metayer, Christopher Newton, Dallas Newton, and Chrystal Adams. Charlotte was a sister full of life and love, leaving behind her siblings Nancy, Pat, Pam, and Charles, while joining her late sister Margo Reynolds in eternal rest.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Tiffany Faranis, William Metayer, Katherine Metayer, Brittany Blackman, Bradley Metayer, Amber, Montana, and her great-grandchildren, Kimberley Adams, Danielle and Christine Adams, Sonja Torsten, Emma, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Govi, Leia, Chloe, Morgan, and Mason. Charlotte was predeceased by her great-grandchild, Colton Hartley, who she now joins in peace.
Charlotte's life was a testament to her funny, creative, and loving nature. Her sense of humor was a source of constant joy for her family and friends, and her laughter was infectious. She had an extraordinary talent for arts and crafts, which she poured into every piece she created, from intricate crochet work to beautiful wedding cakes. Her baking was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a display of her artistic skill and attention to detail.
As we bid farewell to Charlotte Anne Smith, we celebrate a life lived with passion, a heart given freely to all, and a spirit that will continue to inspire. Her laughter will echo in the stories shared, her creativity will live on in the crafts she left behind, and her love will forever be felt in the hearts of those she touched. Charlotte's life was a beautiful work of art, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of her masterpiece.
A visitation will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services in Lakeland, FL, a funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, in Lakeland, FL, 3504 Mt Tabor Rd.
