Charles Lepkowski Obituary

Charles Joseph "Chuck" Lepkowski, a man of loving spirit, creative mind, and courageous heart, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on November 27, 1942, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Chuck was a man of joy and kindness to all who knew him.

Chuck was the beloved husband of Joan Lepkowski, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Carolyn Allard and her husband Douglas and Robert Lepkowski, who remember their father as a guiding light in their lives. Chuck was a proud grandfather to Benjamin, Joshua, and Nicholas, imparting wisdom and sharing in their achievements.

Predeceased by his parents, Anita (Sicard) Lepkowski-Pajak and Adolph D. Lepkowski, Chuck's memory will be cherished by his loving siblings, Barbara (Lepkowski) Redfern, Ruth Lepkowski, and Alex Pajak. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he nurtured each relationship with attention and care.

Chuck proudly served his country as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. Aboard the USS Repertus (DD-851), he demonstrated the same commitment and dedication that would characterize his entire life. His honorable discharge was a testament to his service and patriotism.

After his military service, Chuck's career as a skilled machinist spanned years at Package Machinery in East Longmeadow, MA, and Atlas Cop-co in Holyoke, MA. His expertise and work ethic were respected by all who worked alongside him.

A man of faith and community, Chuck was an active member of Victory Church in Lakeland and previously a long-time resident of Springfield, MA. He served as a Boy Scouts leader of Troop 424 in Chicopee, MA, shaping the lives of young men with his wisdom and patience. His dedication to serving others continued through his involvement with the Royal Rangers and as a volunteer at The Dreamcenter of Lakeland, where he contributed his time and talents selflessly.

Chuck's interests painted the picture of a man who loved to create and explore. His passion for woodworking led him to build exquisite model boats, a hobby that reflected his attention to detail and patience. He also enjoyed the intricate challenge of jigsaw puzzles. Traveling with his wife brought him immense joy, as they made memories across the country together.

Those who knew Chuck will remember him for his loving nature, his creative soul that found expression in everything he did, and his courageous approach to life's challenges. He lived with a generosity that knew no bounds and a warmth that made everyone feel at home.

As we bid farewell to Charles Joseph Lepkowski, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy of a man who touched so many hearts. His story does not end here, for he lives on in the cherished memories of his family, friends, and all the lives he impacted.

His journey through life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of giving, and the strength of character. Chuck's memory will be kept alive not only through the stories shared but also through the acts of kindness he inspired in others. His life was a beautiful tapestry of service, family, and faith. His faith was his compass, guiding him through the journey of life with grace and devotion. His love for the Lord was a testament to us all, and his legacy of faith will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
