Charles Applegate Obituary
Charles Applegate, age 95, of passed away on April 17, 2022.
A native of Tipton, Indiana, he was the son of the late George and Lela Pearl Applegate.
He is survived by his daughters, Cherry Ebeling and Markae Rupp. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Abram and Aaron Rupp, Chantelle Whiteside and Ciara Ilarville, and great grandchildren, Nathan Ault and Asher and Kaleb Rupp.
Charles was inducted into the United States Army in 1944 and was a decorated WWII veteran. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was married to Joy Mary Applegate on December 29, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2018 after 71 years of marriage. He worked as a commercial painter for many years.
The family will hold services privately. Charles will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery with Honors next to his beloved wife, Joy.
