Carolyn VanHouter, age 77, of Lakeland, FL passed away on February 23, 2022.
A native of Nebraska, she was the daughter of late of Victor and Bessie (JC McLeod) Caffaro.
She is survived by her loving sons, Ruben (Theresa) Garcia, Chris (Beth) Garcia and Greg (Debbie) VanHouter and sisters, Donna (Dewayne) Evans and Candy Bryant. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Nicole Garcia, Jake (Molly) Garcia, Zach (Kylee) Garcia, Chris (Elizabeth) Garcia Jr., Clayton VanHouter, and Dakota (Kayla) VanHouter, Matt (Kristen) Kinnett, Nate (Miracle) Kinnett, Gracie Lassiter-Garcia, Sommer Leavens, Megan (Michael) Worley, Nolan (Alaina) Fields and Sonya Lewis, 7 great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd and her brother Victor (Kay) Caffaro Jr.
Carolyn was a member of Fellowship Assembly of God Church. She was a devoted homemaker most of her life and worked in customer service for Walmart. She enjoyed fishing and was a great cook. Her life was devoted to caring for her family and spending time with her grandkids. She never missed a sporting event or an opportunity to be present for everything they did. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation Wednesday March 2, 2022 9:00-11:00 am at Fellowship Church 4405 N Galloway Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810. Funeral service at 11:00am. Carolyn will be laid to rest with her husband Floyd at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
