Carol H Frantz

Carol H. Frantz, 89, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on May 29, 2023. Carol was born in Dayton, Ohio. She was a calm, gentle soul who always had a twinkle in her eye when she spoke to you. She loved the mountains, classical music, food, teaching, and her spirituality. Her motto was always to "Be a light to others." After she graduated high school, she entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur convent in Ohio. While she was a Nun, Carol earned bachelor's and master's Degrees from the University of Dayton. After 30 years in the convent, Carol left to pursue other interests.
Carol loved classical music and enjoyed playing the piano. It was through her love of classical music that she met her late husband, Frank. Frank played the violin while Carol played the piano. They were married in Daytona Beach, FL, and later moved to Columbus, NC to a cooler climate. The couple continued to make beautiful music together until her husband passed away.
Carol also had a love for teaching. She taught ESL at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach during the early 80s. Her students loved her and kept in touch with her. She earned a second master's Degree from the School of International Training and continued Teaching ESL to students from other countries.
In 2002, Carol wanted to continue her life's journey to be a light to others, so she joined the Adawehi Wellness Community in Columbus, North Carolina. Carol served at the community and continued to teach ESL outside of the community over the next 20 years.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1998 and Sister, Barb, in 2020. Carol is survived by her Sister and husband, Dianne and Jerry of Lakeland, Florida, her niece and husband, Michelle and Chuck of Lakeland, Florida, and nephew, Bryan, of Riverview, Florida.
Carol was a kind, yet strong and willful person. She will be missed. A private ceremony will be held with the family at a later date.
