Carl James Griner, 89 of Lakeland passed away February 7, 2020.
Born in Lakeland, Georgia, he was the son of the late Gomer and Annie Griner.
Carl’s surviors include his wife of 42 years, Frances Newton Griner; children, Richard Griner, Timothy Griner, John Lawrence, Tom Lawrence, Jennifer Baisden (Greg); 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Carl was a member of Family Worship Center and served in the US Army. He was a devoted family man who loved Jesus, his family, his pets and especially his darling Fran. Carl had many wonderful adventures over the last 42 years of marriage. He and Fran visited London, Grand Canyon, cruises, beach trips, Indiana vacations, camping and fishing excursions. However, Carl was just as happy being home on the front porch reading his Bible, Worshiping the Lord, or watching wheel of fortune. He loved the simple pleasures of doing the daily activities of life when it included Fran. Carl was a player in God’s plan, and now he has fallen asleep. His family and friends will miss him so much.
The family will receive friends at 1pm, Thursday, February 13, 2020, Family Worship Center, 1350 East Main Street, Lakeland, with service to follow at 2pm.
