Betty Jo Parks, passed away on October 20, 2025, in her hometown of Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 83. Born on June 6, 1942, to the late Remer Phillips and Naomi Sumner Davis.
Betty's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 66 years, the late John Parks, whose memory she cherished deeply. Together, they built a family that was her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother to her late son, George Parks, and her daughter, Karen Phillips, who, along with her husband Daryl, brought much happiness to Betty's life. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Theresa Parks, who remained a valued part of her life and family.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Jane Ham. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Woodrow Parks, and her nephew, Alan Ham. A devoted grandmother, Betty cherished Misty Irene Parks, Tonya Parks, and John Phillips. Though she mourned the loss of her grandchild, Chris Phillips, her legacy lives on through twelve great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren, each bringing her immense joy.
Betty loved baseball and was a lifelong fan of the game. She also deeply loved her late husband and cherished their life together. Her passion and love extended to all areas of her life. Those who knew Betty will remember her as the epitome of loving kindness. Her compassionate nature was evident in every interaction, and her passion for life was an inspiration to all.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Betty Parks will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the cherished memories she has created with her loved ones.
