Bessie Ann Murphy, passed away on December 8, 2025, in her hometown of Lakeland, Florida. Born on October 31, 1945, to the late Verna Yates, Bessie's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength of family bonds.
Bessie was the cherished wife of the late Harvey Franklin Hampton, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage filled with mutual respect, support, and affection. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, and Bessie's legacy continues through her children, Rose Tyer, Mary Lambert, and Joy Bowden.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Jeanie Eugene, Cathy, and Vickie. She is survived by her siblings, Erlaine Mcurry, Butch Yates, Paul Raymond Yates, Elaine Yates, and Sheila Hampton. As well as her 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and multiple great-great-grandchildren.
Bessie spent her time knitting, engaging in conversations about Jesus, and watching westerns. These activities were part of her everyday life and reflected the simple pastimes she regularly enjoyed.
Bessie Ann Murphy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, faith, and family. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we continue to give.
