Bernice Ann Mitteer, 81, ended her journey December 14, 2023, from Grinch Disease. Her heart had grown 3 sizes too large.
Born in Hart, MI as a proud member of the Ottawa Tribe, and well known for her artistic abilities that made her an award-winning landscape architect. Bernice turned landscapes into masterpieces, cultivating the essence of nature's beauty. Her love of nature and the great outdoors included gardening, fishing, and horticulture. She had a special affinity with all living things, from plants and shrubbery to animals, wild or domesticated. It was evident in the way she interacted with all things. She loved animals and nature, and they loved her back.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lee Flood. Surviving are her children, Monda Lashman (Michael), Allena Fusselle (William), Nicholas Mitteer (Tiffany and their daughter Savannah) and Daniel Mitteer (his children Khloie and Kyleigh). She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per her wishes, a private memorial will be held with her family and closest friends.
As she moves on from this earth, she requested we leave her friends and family with this message of love, "See you on the other side!"
